Jackson Walker, a self-taught artist and a Floridian of over five generations, has devoted a lifetime to portraying visually arresting paintings that involve historical and military subjects. This has become especially important in the often overlooked aspects that apply to the State of Florida. |

He was awarded the Medal of Commendation from the Florida National Guard Heritage Art Collection and additional works for the National Guard Bureau for the States of Georgia and West Virginia. In 2008 he was awarded the inaugural Florida Artist of the Year by The Florida House in Washington D.C. He was Featured Artist for the Fall Festival of the Arts in Volusia County, Florida for 2007. In 2005, his entire collection, “Legendary Florida” was purchased by The Museum of Florida Art in DeLand, Florida. Jackson continues his association with the museum adding new works to the collection, working with educational programs and promoting the collection to an ever widening audience. |
