Supplier Assurance Program

Actium Defense maintains an aggressive supplier assurance program. We have developed a rating system that includes every supplier who provides products or services that are delivered to our customers. Suppliers can expect to be evaluated for performance based on quality, on-time delivery, customer communications, and price. This is our way to assure that our customers receive the best value in today’s competitive market.

Our purchases fall into three categories.

  Category I Suppliers are providing products that contain a design element or are engaged in a joint venture with Actium Defense LLC and are typically actively engaged in a support agreement with us.

  Category II Suppliers are build-to-print suppliers who receive competitively awarded contracts for specified items. These suppliers can expect to receive second party supplier system audits when quality system requirements are an element of the contract. Third party certificates are not our sole basis of quality system acceptance. Actium Defense LLC conducts its own second party audits. In all cases, build-to-print suppliers shall maintain compliance with our characteristic accountability requirements and shall establish controls to ensure that delivered products meet the contract requirement. Specific details are dependent upon the complexity of the item produced and its criticality for our customer’s use. It is a supplier responsibility to understand the requirements of each contract and to comply with the provisions of the contract.

  Category III Suppliers are typically distributors that are providing off the shelf items that are described in catalogues and suppliers directed and/or qualified by our customers. These suppliers are surveyed using published information and telephone inquiries and product is accepted by Certificate of Conformity and receiving inspection for proper item, quantity, and condition.

It is possible for a supplier to be providing products in multiple categories. They will be rated in the highest category.
